At New Horizon Health Center in Brownsville, Texas, our mission is to provide accessible, high‑quality primary health care with excellence and dignity to all members of our community, regardless of their ability to pay.

We focus on comprehensive preventive, wellness, and chronic care services so every patient can achieve better health outcomes.

Patients will not be denied services for inability to pay.

  • New Horizon Health Center (NHHC) employs more than 200 dedicated staff committed to improving the health of our community. Our team includes:

    • Physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants

    • Pharmacists, RNs, LVNs, CMAs

    • Health education professionals

    • Lab technologists, radiology technicians

    • Counselors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals

  • The Center’s Board of Directors and staff are committed to our mission for every patient. NHHC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, serving as a community and migrant health center. Since 1972, NHHC has been the medical home for thousands of low-income and uninsured families in this border community.

  • Originally established by a volunteer group of local health care professionals and funded by the City of Brownsville, NHHC became an independent non-profit organization in 1987.
