The New Horizon Care Closet was created to support our community’s basic needs, because health goes far beyond medical care. Our mission is simple: to provide essential items with dignity, compassion, and respect to those who need them most.
Why the Care Closet Exists
At New Horizon Health Center, we surveyed over 3,000 patients to better understand the real-life challenges impacting their health. Access to clothing emerged as one of the top unmet needs in the Brownsville, TX community.
In response, we created the Care Closet to help remove this barrier and support overall well-being. The Care Closet is located at 2137 E. Price St., Brownsville, TX 75821.
What We Offer
Patients of New Horizon Health Center can access a wide range of essential items at no cost, including:

Clothing for all ages and sizes

Seasonal apparel (coats, sweaters, etc.)

Professional/work attire

Shoes

Accessories and bags

Personal hygiene products
All items are available in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
Who Can Use the Care Closet?
The Care Closet is available to current New Horizon Health Center patients. If you are a patient, you are welcome to visit and take what you need—no stress, no stigma.
Hours of Operation

Monday, Tuesday, Thurs, and Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Wednesday: 10:00am - 6:00pm
How to Donate
We rely on the generosity of our community to keep the Care Closet stocked and accessible. We gladly accept:

Gently used or new clothing (all sizes)

Shoes in good condition
-
New or unopened hygiene products
Please ensure all donated items are clean and in usable condition. You can drop off your donated items at 2137 E. 22nd St. Brownsville, Tx 78521
